Kuro (Trick or Treat) by Ana Raine

When Preston saves a black cat everything he knows about life and demons is going to be questioned.

While shopping for candy for his friend’s Halloween party, Preston saves a strange black cat from a group of teenage boys. Overcome with a desire entirely new to him, Preston takes the black cat home and discovers things are not always what they seem, especially on Halloween.

The cat, a demon named Caleb, has been searching for his mate for months and can’t help but be fascinated with sweet Preston. He’s determined to drag Preston down to his home in the underwater demon world. Now Preston must choose between his mortal life, or one full of demons — and love.

For those of you who enjoy a bit more titillation in your temptation following is an R-rated excerpt.

“I’m not allowed to have pets,” Preston said softly, snaking a hand around the bag of chocolate so he could pet the top of the cat’s head. The cat had his eyes trained on him. “We should get you to the vet to fix that leg. Although I think we’ll have to wait until tomorrow.” The cat’s purple eyes were unnerving, but he couldn’t chase away the intrigue.

Preston crossed the parking lot to his apartment, juggling the candy and the cat as he went up two flights of stairs to his apartment. He managed to unlock his front door without dropping anything. Once he got inside, he set the cat down on the tiled floor and put the candy on the counter. The cat continued to stare at him with those unnerving purple eyes, his heavy tail swishing.

Gripping the corner of his table, Preston tried to steady himself, but the room was spinning violently. He felt like he’d been poisoned. Cold glass collided with his hands as he fumbled for water, his cock pounding.

Had a couple months really passed since he’d been fucked? And longer since he’d made love…

“Perfect,” a man’s voice purred.

Preston was sure he was still watching a Halloween movie about vampires, or at least dreaming about them.

Where Preston had placed the cat, a man now stood, naked apart from the blanket that had been draped over the back of Preston’s couch. He was very lean, but muscular and of an uncommon height. One hand held the blanket in place, covering the intruder’s cock, which still somehow managed to bulge out from beneath the fabric.

Preston’s gaze traced a line from the bulge up to well-defined abdominal muscles and pectorals dusted with a scant amount of dark curly hair. The man’s eyes were what had Preston stumbling farther away, gripping the kitchen counter for stability. He felt as though he was so hard he would shatter like glass if the naked, gorgeous man continued to stare at him like that.
